The Government of Canada issued 3,900 invitations to apply for permanent resident status in Canada to Express Entry candidates in a new draw held November 15.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied the 'tie-break' rule for candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 449. This means invitations were issued to all those above this score as well as those with a score of 449 who submitted their Express Entry profiles before September 16, 2018, at 12:41:42 UTC.
To enter the Express Entry candidate pool, an individual must meet the eligibility requirements for one of the following three economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Express Entry candidates are assigned a CRS score out of 1,200 based on 'human capital' factors, such as past education, work experience and language ability.
Candidates who obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) have 60 days to submit a complete Canadian permanent residence application to IRCC, along with all the necessary supporting documents.
The CRS is dynamic and candidates in the Express Entry pool can potentially improve their ranking.
